Alex Rowe has been a teacher for a decade now, in many different capacities. He started teaching music privately while he was still in high school, in Utah. He moved to the University of Utah and received his Bachelor's of Music in Jazz Performance. After graduating he was hired on as adjunct music faculty for Westminster College and was accepted into the Master's of Arts in Teaching (MAT) degree at the University of Utah. He graduated, from the MAT program summa cum laude and began teaching in the Salt Lake City School District. He was hired on as a music specialist and reading interventionist. The next year he had the chance to pioneer a new violin program at another school. From the second school, he moved to a district sponsored charter school and taught a 5/6 blend, a 3/4 blend and began a new music program (the "Rock Ensemble") over a 3 year period. He has been a teacher at Newman Elementary for two years now, in the 5th grade and loves his job.
